What is Teaford?: A little English town on the River Tea that grows with its followers. It runs live in your browser: the day passes in an hour, trains and ferries come and go, and newcomers move in every evening.
How do I get a house?: Follow @followcity.live on Instagram, TikTok or Facebook, then type your handle in the "Move to Teaford" box on the map. On Instagram you can also comment HOME under one of our posts and reply HOME to our message.
When does my house appear?: Straight away it is on the list, and you arrive with that evening's newcomers: by train, ferry, plane or bus, depending on how you found us and how big the town is.
How do I find my house?: Type your handle in "Find yourself in Teaford". The map flies to your home and shows your address, your job and your favourite spot.
Why did I get a flat and not a house?: The old town has 252 houses and they went to the first residents. After that Teaford grows into Southfields: mansion flats, semis and blocks of flats. Everyone still gets their own address.
Can I choose my job?: Yes, when you move in. Jobs in town depend on which shops and buildings are open, so the list changes as Teaford grows. Self-employed trades are always open.
Does it cost anything?: No. There is nothing to buy and no account to create.
What if I stop following?: Your house stays. We would rather you came back to visit.
Can I have my house removed?: Yes. Message @followcity.live and we will take it down, usually within a few days. See Privacy.
Who runs this?: Followcity, a small independent project. Teaford is the first town; more countries may follow.
